I Will Remember You Always

Contributed by Nazmythian on Friday, 2nd March 2007 @ 10:35:59 PM in AEST
Topic: Grief

I Will Remember You Always

I will remember you always,
rock-hard and iron-straight,
wooden-spoon-stern, and
flawlessly forgiving.

I will remember you always,
your features engraved
upon the marble of my mind,
larger than life.

I will remember you always,
as so much more than just a word,
a title or a name, you will forever be
my humble beginning.

I will remember you always,
statuesque and beautiful, with rare
moments of weakness, demonstrative
that is all right to cry.

and

I will remember you always,
as tears wash through the valleys
of my cracked, desert cheeks…

reduced
to stone.

Additional authors note:
I felt it necessary to dispell any well meaning, sympathetic readers
My mother is quite alive, well, and residing in beautiful Colorado.
Thanks anyway.

This my friend is flawless. Leaving many a feeling. I am also thankful you left the note at the end to let us know that your mother is well. I got worried there for a moment:).

Snazzerdoodle! That picture is powerful, hun!

I can see why and how you were inspired .. (but I am, too,
glad to know your mother is alive and well) .. which brings
me to this .. I am incredibly impressed that you have the
ability to write such an emotional piece without benefit
of actual experience. Exceptional, scotty! Your talent
knows no bounds.

With humility and respect ~
