To Die Alone

To be alone is to be happy
To be ignored is to enjoy life
We do not need company
We do not want company
If I die alone I will die happy
But now I wish death upon others
Not just myself.

Im not sure how I felt about this work
I found it sad, but mainly because I'm not sure I understand it .... the reasoning within it I mean ...
I have to disagree with some of it .. but of course that is purely on a personal opinion of life .....
Maybe you could share or explain so that I truly understand it ?

Hmmm, explaining it.
I think to a degree it was inspired by Donnie Darko when Reberta Sparrow says "Every living creature on earth dies alone."
But it has a lot to do with the fact I just want to be left alone a lot of the time, I enjoy being alone. But the problem is people do not ignore you, they walk past and feel the need to throw and insult at you or ask if you are okay.
When I say we i'm not sure who I mean. Me and others like me I guess.
And those that do disturb my thoughts, well sometimes I wish they would just ***** off and die. I know it is harsh but sometimes that is how I feel.
I hope that helps you understand it Dee. |

All well and fine as long as it doesn't collapse against being functional. This reminded me of Tolkien and the song Sméagol may have sung on the way to becoming Gollum.
Allusions aside it is easy to holy on the mountain.
Perhaps you are the type (genetics meets discipline and temperament) for long range space travel.
Provocative
Peace

What peace would one find wishing death to others if they are already happy by themselves?
Could it be anger if kept too long inside will eventually turn outward?
Thank you for making me asks these questions..that's what poetry is for to most...So this as simple as it is was beautiful.Thank you |

In response to needledancing.
As I explained in a previous post it is those that disturb me in a rude manner, throwing things and such, that makes me angry. And then I get those really bad days where I feel like everyone should die.
So while I am happy when I am alone it is hard to be alone. I have friends and I enjoy spending time with them, but they understand that sometimes they should just back off. Not everyone understands this concept.
And I am glad you enjoyed my poem. I didn't really like it myself.
yangdantien: I know you are not comparing my simple poem to Tolkien, but thank you for the comment anyway. I am a great admirer of Tolkiens work and that comment means a lot to me.
So thank you again, I hope this helps everyone understand the feelings I am trying to convey in the poem. |
