Candy Coated
In my mind-altered-reality
is born the stuff of dreams ...
Once realized
do they then die,
or like butterflies ...
find new purchase
in the skies?
Is there a shelf life,
an expiration date,
or are my dreams
like Twinkies,
eternal?
Everlasting Gobstoppers
of my imagination?
Licorice ropes that tie
this universe together,
while I ...
in my cocoon,
flex new wings ...
prepare for flight ...
and a much too short
span ...
of life?

So many images of sweetness here, like the feelings of dreams of fulfilled. Unusual, creative and thought-provoking, I loved it! The topic is appropriate, in my mind anyway, it should all just stay exactly how it is.

snazzy .. WOW!
a brilliant piece from conception to expression
to incredible completion! I love all the metaphors,
but I especially liked that last comparison, hun. It is
completely relatable ... and as such .. painful to read ..
dreams ... what actually do we know, really?
(though ceasing in the activity would mean, for me,
certain and absolute death!)
Excellent post, Scotty. Truly a remarkable thought to
ponder ..

Naz,
Again, a very creative and thought provoking write Perhaps it's not the sugar coated candy whose presence we need , but the sweet tooth that craves the sweetness we percieve.

I am in deep respect for your ability to to ponder lifes dreams with such sweet metaphors as candy.
