The Dust Ward

Contributed by unknown_utopia on Sunday, 25th February 2007 @ 02:22:13 AM in AEST
Topic: anguished

It's cold tonight
and outside the snow
serenely falls
I'm waiting for the footsteps
to echo down the halls,
In room 208
that's where I end my day
after being undercover
looking for another
who feels the same.
I drift on flows
written on ypdc
loving the way
the innervisions
undulate vividly,
I smoke and I sip
and float into fantasies
I giggle a little
when the voices start whispering.

Something's coming
I sense a happening
the other crippled pilgrims are moaning
and I dig the sound
cause i know soon I will be escaping.
They call my name
I start to shake
and anticipate
as the pain slowly fades.

Somebodies talking
but I can't hear what they say
I'm waiting
patiently
for the meds to kick in
and the Illusions to begin,
I'm just passing time
in room 208
waiting for the next time
the footsteps are echoing.

I like the atmosphere and expression of this one, and the way you pull off an almost casual use of "ypdc".

Nicely done.

"...the other crippled pilgrims are moaning..."

Brilliant

I have spent time on the Ward as well.

Peace
