The good samaritan

Contributed by randyjohnson on Thursday, 22nd February 2007 @ 07:26:22 AM in AEST
Topic: InspirationalPoems

I got mugged and I was beaten, stabbed and left to die.
I couldn't get any help from the people who walked by.
As I laid there dying, things looked pretty grim.
When people walked past, they said "the hell with him."
I'm not sure how many people walked past, I think about seven or eight.
How human beings can be so callous is hard for me to contemplate.
I thought I'd never see my family again.
But suddenly I was saved by a good samaritan.
I nearly bled to death after the mugger stabbed me with his knife.
But the good samaritan rushed me to the hospital and saved my life.
It was just like that story in the Bible.
I owe everything to that man who is wonderful.

This poem is soooo sad .. because an innocent life could have been lost because of what? NOT the stab wound but ignorance and FEAR.... My own son protected a German man with his grandsons on a train from London only the other day HE PUT HIS LIFE AT RISK for a complete stranger! My feelings were so mixed ... I was so PROUD because he did so and the THUG ran tail between his legs... but NOT ANOTHER SOUL came to the mans aid!!
ONLY MY SON.... I told him I was proud of him but he risked his own life for another ... Your good samaritan didn't have to do that .. but was kind enough to come to aid ... SURELY humanity can make that small sacrifice?
HEAR HEAR TO THE NAMELESS SAMARITAN

Fictional as a poem but a reality to many.
God bless the human who selflessly puts himself/herself at risk everyday for their fellow humans. They are the Angels on our planet. Nice tribute and great insight.

Sad But O so True in this world these days.

people are often too scared to get involved and leave it for the next person.
What about love Thy neighbour.
Or "treat Others As you would like top be

treated.

If we all followed The above two Sentenses MOST RELIGIONS TEACH THIS.

we would have a more pEACE*****LL WORLD.

Thanks for sharig this Food For thought.

God Bless you.

Doug
