What becomes of the broken hearted

Contributed by Malcolmsdreamgirl on Wednesday, 21st February 2007 @ 03:02:00 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

I read your words of pain and grief,.... eating you away
The love you lost, the life you gave, until they left that day
Now you think of only pain inside, as it rips, your heart in two
Forgetting times, declaring love between the both of you

I wonder why you feel inside, your life will now soon end
without this "OTHER" love around, for you to now on depend?
That empty bed, with just you in, that house so empty too
That dinner table set for one, instead of BOTH of you!

You reach out from your heart to find, or hold, their hand again
Yet when they walked out from your life, you should have realised then
Your love wasn't meant to be,.... Forever and a day.........................
For if the fates had written so, beside you now they'd lay

Be thankful for your great escape, pity their next victim
For many more broken hearts they'll leave, with not a soul to fix them
You were so lucky to walk away with just a broken heart
But TRUE LOVE lasts forever more, and NEVER TRUE LOVE parts.

Go find that "SPECIAL SOMEONE" that waits for you to call
And slowly adore that feeling of love as once more in love you fall
Enjoy each butterfly you feel, each rollercoasting minute
With someone new worth loving now, someone PERFECT IN IT.

Sooo reminiscent of this oldie but goodie...

"What becomes of the broken hearted
Who've had love that's now departed...
I know, I've got to find~
Some kind of peace of mind..."

Great job!
