She was taken away from me
By choice not fate
Memories stab my heart with the sharpness of knives
Guilt surges through my blood at the mere thought of happiness again
Whether I picture her laughing or crying,
It all rushes back to that one night.
How fair is my devil mind,
to trick me into forgetting the good
and letting me only remember the bad?
Should I just forget she existed?
And in doing so, deny myself truth?
Or rise above the pain and be real?
Memories are devious things

justagirl82, what a powerful piece you have created here as the emotions are dripping off the words and the images become clear to see. You have such an awesome ability of reaching right out and touching your readers with raw emotion and its great and I applaud you for this. Thank you once again for giving us more of you and your fine talent of writing such emotionally charged words of poetry.

you have put this into very expressive wording.. Im sorry to hear about your loss.. however sometimes its hard to deal with things or we question well what if this or that.. everything happens for a reason.. beautiful write
