Moving forward

Contributed by ijleyton on Tuesday, 20th February 2007 @ 07:18:14 PM in AEST
Topic: obsession

Every day he wished to move forward,
towards his future advance,
but he could never understand
how, with each try,
he couldn't wait for the next,
and ended up not moving at all.

Sometimes he even gave it his all,
and it seemed like he advanced.
But when he looked forward
and tried to see what was coming next,
he would, once again, try,
thinking he could understand.

But since he really did not understand,
he never realized that he could not advance.
And so, again he would try,
thinking he could move forward.
He looked and saw people behind him. But, all in all,
many were still ahead. Next,

he would ignore those ahead and think: "Next
time i have to try,
I have to give it my all.
Only then can i really advance
and finally understand
why I'm moving forward."

Thus, he always tried to move forward.
Always wanting to understand
why he should try at all.
Always looking for what came next,
he would try and try,
wanting to advance.

So much he wanted to advance,
that he could never understand
why he was moving forward.
He was always planning his big next
move, and he never stopped at all;
he would just try, try, and try.

Forward he thought he advanced.
With all his might he moved forward until there was no "next".
Now he could understand everything. Everything except 'why try'.
