Sleeping Beauty

Contributed by hauntedscorp on Tuesday, 20th February 2007 @ 01:33:42 PM in AEST
Topic: ambiguous

A natural disaster is what has occurred
a soliloquoy of silence like nothing you've heard
This ethereal dance is physically draining
sidestep a defense that's self pertaining

In bruised and swollen streams of emotion
is a knocked-up matinee of catastrophic promotion
Where our lips trail off... holding captive the thought
heartfelt murmurs in tongue and cheek caught

Lost in the prying ambush of self doubt
a withered perversion drenched in sunlit drought
Infinite sadness responds to a distant melody
definitively speaking, this could be a remedy

Shocked by moments with flattering intent
mild displays forfeited by something hell-bent
The fallback to negativity has almost been purged
awakened at last; true beauty emerged.

Gosh I've missed your writes!
This line,

"is a knocked-up matinee of catastrophic promotion "

tickled me no end. It just rolls off the tounge.

But this line,

"Infinite sadness responds to a distant melody "

appeals to my heart, just beautiful!

This maybe the song of Ray Nagin Mayor of New Orleans recited by the rhythm of a march, a dirge after the floods of Katrina during the first funerals with rain still falling but ending on the last line as a fat beams of sunshine bust through clouds and sadness to twinkle in the eyes of the listeners mixing with tears as a prince's kiss.
Which awakens the city to live happily ever after or so we hope.

Bravo

Peace
Yang

Your works are beautiful Scorp..
beauty can ALWAYS be found in the old addage that says, there is truth in honesty..

(any expression at all, of course, far beyond the obvious intent implyed merely by those few words..lol)

my own take..
especially, by the sentiments set forth in the final stanza.. particularly the final line-

your metamorphosis.. as it were

shutting up now*

B

Scorpy .. it's a helluva fight, no?

I am quite impressed and envious of your ability to write of these darker
more incessant emotions. I start something dark .. and that damn angel
of hope creeps in to turn the ending around.
(she is beginning to annoy me)

In any case, hun .. this was brilliant from beginning to end.
A flawless execution of what was .. what is .. and what has
become. It's perfect! I've missed you. And your writes.

*hugs*

Imagine my surprise when I came to your page, to return the favor of a comment &...well, no favor needed...only found. Found in your words, which, by the way, can ya' tell I'm impressed by? teehee

Seriously, there is an eloquence here belonging to a true wordsmith, at least in my esteem & therefore, I offer you not simply a comment in return, but, my sincere admiration of your writing!
