A DULL BRUTE!

Contributed by FRANCO on Tuesday, 20th February 2007 @ 06:48:05 AM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

Among the cattle, I battled
far beyond my mind recall,
from infancy to adolescent and to
my adulthood with cattle, I battle.

It was one such morning, when
clouds lined by gold, heart felt bold,
and my spirit rose a hundred fold to fight
my way into her heart to take-hold.

Knowing not the expression of love; I ‘m
a cattle-man who only know to plow, held her
tender hand with the might I could muster; saw
trickling tears in her eyes; I assumed it for hate
or worse.

Penalizing me for being a brute fool,
rolled my heart into aching burl,
locked my soul inside a gloomy barn,
life I thought was just dark and barren.

It was one such pale morning
as I was battling with the cattle, I saw
through the slender fog came my beautiful lass
with grace, an odd fear on her face.

“Hold not my hand” she begged, “but my life, for
I love thee with all my tender heart, but hold not my hand,
b’cause I ‘m not a cattle you battle,
love is not a street brawl but a divine marvel.”

I leaped with joy as if a young calf - swept her
up in my arms; she giggled “you…my dull bull…”
FRANCO.

Being Italian I have acquired a quid pro quo approach and it works well here. Juggling cattle & battle with dull bull was chunky at first but worked more effectively then first surmised as I had a big wide smile upon rereading for 'love is a divine marvel' though brawling fools we encounter.

Well Done

Peace
Yang
