Like the song of the willow tree
Hanging in its pain
My heart’s beat off-key
Is drowning in the rain
Silent, the somber melody
Fills the cool night air
Echoes of would be
Without a rest to spare
Love is a songbooks potpourri
Planted in the earth
Encore is the willow tree
Dare to see its worth

I love the clarity of the images in this and the melancholic tone. The last stanza is a gem.
