Decorate My World

Contributed by needledancing on Monday, 19th February 2007 @ 11:11:13 PM in AEST
Topic: DreamsandWishes

When I was just a little girl I thought I was so strange,
in every room I travelled I would mentally re-arrange.
I would add pieces of furniture to make the room look right,
Change the colours, Paint the walls, and put things out of sight.

I just had something in me that wanted things placed so,
the rooms I often entered had so much that didn’t go,
I never said a word to those who put there rooms as such,
I guess I just concluded they didn’t have “The Touch”

It continued through my lifetime from room to room I’d travelled,
Changing mentally every room until my mind unraveled.
I finally had to stop this crazy passion of décor,
I found some rooms just filled with LOVE and couldn’t say no more.

needledancing, there is nothing wrong with you and I am sorry through comments others have to be so mean as there is nothing wrong with being so creative. I liked this poem and see such an awesome talent that I will always encourage and hopefully even inspire to always write. You are awesome and admired as a fellow poet. Wonderful Poem.

I loved this poem, especially as I used to have a thing about interior decorating as a kid. The last line is great!
Don't worry about others' derogatory comments, I think you're a very talented writer and I always enjoy reading your poems!

Take care,
Dom

This piece literally danced in my mind as I read it! There was such a sweetness and purity and humble (I never said a word to those who put there rooms as such,
I guess I just concluded they didn’t have “The Touch”) in the "passion" of your write. And then to end it so wise ---- with love ---- was a magnificent touch of class! Very excellent writing so enjoyable to read.
