Turnup, His Adventures Begin

Turnup, His Adventures Begin

From the loft of a barn, Turnup's very first act
Was to fall on his head with a resounding smack
Him mom took no notice while feeding eight others
So Turnup ain't like his sisters and brothers

He sees things a bit different from most other cats
Probably didn't help when he ate that 'bad' rat
They say what don't kill you just makes you stronger
I reckon that's why he's live so much longer

His adventures are many, close friends are few
Most feel too close when he passes "peeee- eeeew"
With scant care or thought of quaint social graces
He pays little mind to the looks on their faces

So he wanders alone, the back alleys at night
An' frequently frequents an occasional cat fight
Sometimes he wins, sometimes he loses
Each loss shows the signs of Turnup's abuses

Though missing an ear an' blind in one eye
He still sees himself as the handsomest guy
His tail was once broken, it's still badly bent
But ya still gotta love this crusty ol' gent

feralpen, what a wonderful tribute to turnup and all those awesome animal lovers within our world as this poem may cause many to reflect on their relationships with their animals. I really admire you for creating this piece and for sharing a little of yourself with all of us. Wonderful job.

What a good tale even if its broken and crusty to be told to children maybe 6 years or older as it maybe a bit scary for the younger crop as ol' Turnups rough and tumble is real and gritty.

Well Done

Peace
Yang
