Ordinary Day

I made it to the bus stop
and took a bite of my bagel
before the first tree said ‘Hello’.
I nodded and said ‘Hi’ back,
but all it talked about was
dirt and birds, and how the
five circles of Gaia are getting
overcrowded with shrubs (boring!!)
On board, I brushed aside the faeries
and managed to find a seat that
didn’t have traces of gold dust and verdigris
- that stuff really sticks, and
marks you for goblin spells.
School was so-so;
a few transformations
between Math and Gym,
and a half-hearted dimensional
shift from the Land of Shadows
but otherwise, just one ordinary day
- although the burnished fire-dragon at
sunset was pretty cool…

This really made me smile, so thank you! I completely agree with the sentiment and I love the tone in the last stanza.

Greetings dearest Spike,
What a pleasure it is to read your outstanding work. From a dull ordinary day you transform it into one mystical & enchanting one~
- although the burnished fire-dragon at
sunset was pretty cool…
The last two lines are awesome.

S .. this was grand! (sorta Harry Potterish, if you don't mind
the comparison). I loved the "matter-o-fact" way you wrote this.
Your diversity is truly amazing, spike. I never tire of your writes
and I think part of that is because it is always new. (I sometimes
think I must getting dreadfully boring .. ) It's good to stretch
our wings and push our boundaries, methinks. And boy!
You DO just that poet. BTW .. I too, was mesmerized
by the last line ~
*Loves this!*

Ah,Spike, that mind of yours is something else,it really is.The 'boring' in brackets was a real tickle for me,led me back to another of yours,'Growing Pains',a couple of lines in brackets in that poem were just the business.
Sitting here shaking my head in appreciation.Well done ,mate,
