Happiness and Peace to find, I set out once;
Setting sight on it, thought, I would immediately pounce,
Alas, my search brought to naught and I did not find even an ounce.
Happiness and Peace to find, I set out once;
Then one day, I chanced upon an amateur sculptor at work;
Carving a stone with his chisel and hammer, not thinking of any perk;
With pearls of sweat on his brows, he finished the piece with a final jerk;
In front of my very eyes, I saw the stone metamorphise into a beautiful artwork
For a second, the sculptor stood still and admired his creation;
He was happy, he had just given shape to a notion;
Next I saw he was at peace, his face was full of satisfaction;
Truth I am telling my friends, this is not an exaggeration
Then it dawned on me, Happiness and Peace are linked to each other;
You can’t find them in isolation, they are always together;
Do your task with sincerity and to your hearts content, for results do not bother;
Happiness, you will find, after and peace will not be far either,

We all seek the same in our lives...often we find it all when we look outside ourselves and see how others have found their happiness....I quess that's why there is more than one of us down here.....I love how you are finding your wisdom in others....and recording it in your own master piece of verse. |
