The rain, the sun, the wind, the snow,...
Around and around the seasons go;...
The spring greens come, the fall leaves blow,...
And the winds will change 'fore the fall of snow;
Again, comes the rain so the flowers can grow.
A child will be born
And a grandpa die;
To one, its "Hello,"
To the other, "Good-bye."
Its time for life,...
To live in the sun;
Its time to marry,...
Have a daughter and son.
Its time to love,...
Laugh, work, and play;...
And its right to grow old
And leave it someday.
As a child I played at my home on the farm,...
Then I bore my babies,...
Tried to keep them from harm.
The girl is still in here...
Though I'm wrinkled and gray;
Its hard to believe
That I'll soon go away.
Let me watch my grandchildren
And understand God's way;
As the seasons go.
There comes a new day.
G.F.R. Coykendall, 1989

I love your poem, but it depressed me a little. I am only eighteen and your poem reminded me about how quickly life goes by. That saddens me a little. Anyhow..sad is still good. I love your poem. |

Good sweep of a person's lifetime. Life is fragile and passes quickly! |

There is an element of sadness there. Life is short. I started fretting about the time I had wasted when I was in the 30's, but found peace with its brevity, or... the uncertainty of time. At your age, the thing to do is just live it well. It seems to me that you are doing that.
