Anti-Abuse.

Topic: oops

Black and blue.
bruises like tears.
both quite the same;
they both reappear.

Scars like memories.
these ones will never fade.
i can pass this school, but if life was a test,
i'd fail this grade.

I call you brother.
you call me punching bag.
and these cheeks keep soaking up tears,
like old used-up rags.

And as time goes on past.
unnoticed so like me.
all my effort and this work.
me being all that i can be.

Do you hear the choking in my voice?
these words lie, and i'm okay.
dying inside, don't want you to worry.
so that is what i'll say.

Piles of make-up, Covering her face.
he can't help it, must be you.
it's just a bruise, not his fault.
must be something you do.

D E S E R V E D .
that's it you deserve this pain.
you try so hard, is it worth it?
yes, you tell me. and maybe i'm sane.

And maybe i'm sane.
and maybe i'm okay.
and maybe i hate you.
maybe that's why i cry and hurt,
every single day.

Each bruise, each scar, each memory, each tear.
every single one is a story to tell.
about a brother, and a sister, and the pain,
of how she tried so hard, just to be put through hell.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
