She peeps round the door,
heart full of fears, quietly sobbing,
cheeks wet with tears,
a child should never feel such pain,
as her parents attack each other again,
as each accusation they throw,
her insecurities and pain, start to grow,
this time will it be her mother who goes,
she tells herself she could be dreaming,
her stomach churns, she's silently screaming,
thease are the people she looks to for protection,
they stole her childhood, filled her with rejection,
now she's a woman, memories never faded,
it took its toll, her childhood jaded,
she finds it so hard not to believe,
every person she loves is not going to leave.
