It came right to that point in time the dentist said to me.
It's time to say goodbye to these, much happier you'll be.
It didn't really hurt that much the actual extraction.
However in the mirror there was a new reaction.
Decidedly I knew inside I never could appear,
Without my plate of pearly whites without a lot of fear.
I'd have to keep them tucked right in between these gums of mine.
Then everything I had to do would surely turn out fine.
Then I heard the scary news in hospital that day.
I had to go to surgery and in the dish they'd stay.
I argued and I cried a bit, but to my greatest grief.
I had to make the journey without my brand new teeth.

Yes you bright light and insight to a very stark milestone and fears shared by many, the irreversible changes of aging. May this change and the dentists effort enable you to be always able to take 'the bite out of life' as needed.
