An Angel's Voice

Contributed by isrred on Wednesday, 14th February 2007 @ 11:23:22 PM in AEST
Topic: ChristianPoetry

Like Alma who yearned for the voice of thunder
To cry repentance unto every man,
And convince them to forsake every blunder,
To receive as much joy as he possibly can.

I too wish for an angel’s voice,
And to speak my heart’s desire with so much power.
To help you in your every choice,
And help your true potential, blossom to flower.

Oh, if I had such strength,
I would give you all of my advice.
For Satan will try at length,
To trap you in his eternal vice.

I pray you find good, loving friends,
Like Jonathan and David of the Old Testament.
Good friends will be with you ‘til the earth’s very ends,
And bind you to the rod like the strongest cement.
Living this life is hard enough,
With all its trials and hardships,
But the love of a friend, that is no bluff,
Can lead you along, and steer you away, from any serious blips.

If I could be more than a man,
And cry from the mountain tops.
I would ensure all could understand
That the atonement never stops.
Faith in Christ you should find, nourish, and share.
Repent of the wrongs you do. Come unto him,
And cast upon him all your cares,
And know his love for you will never, ever, dim.

Alas, I am but a man and with words cannot cause one’s frame to shake.
But as your brother, and your friend,
I share with you these two things. Which will make or break
Your ability, to endure faithfully to the end.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
