Socks - and the Sock Monster

You know that annoying feeling ? When you really give a Damn?
So much so, you make so much noise ? and every door you Slam!
Well that is is how I feel today, when once again I discover
It's time to sort those norty sox entangled with one another

Before I start the sock game, I take a real deep breath
And hope to God they're all there, then put it to the test
I'm really very clever tho, cos now I buy all black
So when the sox are washed again the rest is just the knack

The knack you see, as we all know is finding every pair
We know they started off together! so surely they'll still be there!
I counted them in pairs again ,filed them TWO by TWOs
When I put them in the washing machine, and put away the shoes

I put in the soap powder the softner some aswell
I see them going round and round ,but still I cannot tell
But whats to tell I say again .. I know that they're all there
So off I go for coffee not giving fig nor care

Until its time to take said sox, back out ,.....of said machine
This is the time when said sox, choose to remain unseen
I know I counted them all in there, I know each was a pair
So why the flippin heck now, isn't every sock still there?

Could it be my machine is a monster? is that what it could be?
That it had a long long day today and was feeling a tad Hun-gry?
That it ATE a simple sock or two or three or four or five?
Is it just a plain machine or is it now alive?

I WON'T BE DEFEATED!...., so I give the drum a spin
Then I lean right down and forward, and STICK my head right IN!
Nope, they certainly ain't in there, they certainly have gone
That darn machine has done it again, another flippin con!

I hope it's just the static, which has bound them all together
That in the end I'll find them all and if not " Oh WHATEVA!
But deep down there inside of me, it's really quite frustrating
Did I put them ALL... in there now? I'm questiioning, and debating

Here we go again, nearly there,.... the socks are all matched up
I walk back to the kitchen, make a coffee in my cup
I take one more deep breath again, and look into my basket
and sure enough there's THREE socks there dratt and blooming blast it!

The missing sock in my basket shows up stuck to the back of a similar colored shirt that I don't even notice when putting on and this static cling-on then falls off in front of the whole office. This was so much better than any stand-up comedy routine on the same subject so much so that comics are lining up to convert to poetry.

Great Job

Peace

Malcolmsdreamgirl, You are speaking for everyone in creative poetic form, as no one loosing socks would be beyond the norm. Doing laundry with no loss is a dream of all, those dad burn socks have disappeared as we stand and ball. You look, you touch and all around, those stinking sockes can not be found. Off you run down to the store, buying new socks forevermore. Lol. I really enjoyed this poem and I am thinking many others did as well. You are so awesome.

Your Dear Friend.

Trully enjoyable...I'm convinced washing machines run on sock power alone. Keep up the great work.
