Farewell

Contributed by trialnerror on Wednesday, 14th February 2007 @ 01:50:04 AM in AEST
Topic: goodbyepoetry

You have left a huge emptiness in me
Ever since, I became a lonesome entity
For a short while, you’ve become my life
A sense of power and a cause to strife
Now that emptiness is eating me up
My existence has become an empty cup
That cup was once filled with your smile
Which would get me to walk an endless mile
I’m back to my old boring self
Just another brokenhearted guy on a shelf
Everyday before I sleep I used to pray,
Together forever we would stay
Too bad, it wasn’t meant to be
That “I and you”, could’ve become “we”
But it’s okay I’m used to it
To be a lover, I’m not fit
I really wanted to catch you when you fell
But it’s too late now we already said farewell

Beautifully expressed. Well done.
