Foolish Lilacs

Contributed by miss_erika on Tuesday, 13th February 2007 @ 07:33:39 PM in AEST
Topic: DreamsandWishes

And the lilacs don't like the other flowers.
They claim that the others take their ideas.
Dear Mother goose
has formed her noose
to hang the lilacs from the mantle piece.
The lilacs ideas are now deceased.
The lilacs can't seem to understand normal thinking.
CAPTAIN COME QUICK the ship of knowledge is sinking!
Put the rum in the captains room,
and board up the door.
Suspend the treasure from the ceiling,
parallel to the floor.
CALL THE DOCTOR, I CAN'T FELL MY NERVES.
Dinner is at 8
and our tables reserved.
9 comes buy and we're just arriving.
Our table is gone
but it's windows we're thriving.
The clowns have stopped laughing
and the elephants are thin.
No one is clapping,
missing the trapese is a sin.
The lion ate it's tamer
the whip is on the ground.
A knife was consumed by the flame eater,
and invisible Danny has been found.
It's hard to wish on the stars
when they are duller than they seem.
Engines is to cars, as distance is to dream.

Hemmingway would be proud of your attitude... and probably your writing as well.

of course he would hate me for speaking for him.

As for your poem. I love it. Full of such unique realizations. The ending alone is worth the time to read.

sincerely, a foolish reader

This would be Fellini's next film. Really loved the flow on this. Bravo and kudos I will be looking for more.

Peace
