Watch me Bleed Slowly

Contributed by Shattered_soul on Sunday, 11th February 2007 @ 05:54:31 PM in AEST
Topic: self-harmpoetry

I watch myself
Watch me bleed slowly
Cutting again
Wishfully hoping
Trying to stop
Yet it urges to move
Forward still
Making a groove.
It keeps getting deeper
Into my flesh
Tearing away
All the pain that is left.
Replacing my heart
With its metallic sharp edge
I watch it cut deeper
Into its wedge.
Unable to stop myself
I continue to watch myself
Watch the blood flow,
the evil wisp out.
There is no love
Not anymore
Not threw all these
Torn fleshy doors.
Nothing but pain
Physical replacing mental,
The pain that’s inside
Replaces my mind
If I hurt myself
Then its not a crime.

This is so sad. The poem itself is well written. I cant say I understand the addiction to cutting though. I myself have never done that sort of thing. Without offending you I would like to add that I do think it is a crime to hurt yourself though. A crime against you.
Does that make sense?? You are the most important person, love and compassion first begins with you, yourself. Reach deep and find that true self and your worth as a person and believe me you do have great worth.

wow. I know personaly it is so hard to break a bad habbit. but let me try to help you k? now this takes time, but I promise eventually, it works. now, before you go to bed at night, Do not think of who did you wrong, or how, or try to understand why, don't think of someone you may dislike, don't think about your problems, don't think about any worry's or hate or anything that get's you upset. instead. think about your dreams in life, how you would like to improve yourself, how you can better yourself. but do this without thinking of your hurtful problems. keep thinking about all of this until you fall asleep. then when you wake in the morning, put forth to what you came up with on how you can better yourself, or how you can make yourself happy. make your dreams of a better life become real. without negative conflict. now when you are done thinking about what you can do, stop, don't think about it no more, then do it. Find good qualities about yourself, even if it's as little as being able to make someone smile once in awhile. even the smallest of things, is a big gift. Now if you feel like grabbing a knife or a razor or whatever and do selfharm, resist the urge, go outside and take a deep breath and look around. listen to the sounds, smell the smells, look at things, compare yourself to these things. sounds wierd but for example look at the grass on the ground. k? Grass get's walked on by everyone, It gets cut down, it's left out to freeze in the cold, and when you think its had all it can take warmth comes and the sun shines on this grass, giving it the rays of energy it needs to grow again. my point is, never give up, always work for the best in life, and think of yourself like the grass, if the grass were to give up and deside not to come back again, what an ugly and sad looking place this would be. don't give up. thanks for sharing and hope i could be of some help. best of wishes to you and may all your dreams come true.
Always
Justin

This poem in itself is a Cry for Help..... the fact you share your pain in this poetry is a call out to us .... It IS a CRIME to self harm, but I know that is easier for me to say than for you to understand.
If you Truly had a choice of being unhappy or happy...which would you choose?

By self harming you are separating yourself from people, when it's people and company that you truly need. I know there isn't ONE person here on this site that wouldn't wish to support and help you through this illness, for that it was it is .. and illness where you have lost control and the only way you feel in control is to self harm. But like those addicted to chocolate, I bet it's only a short quick fix and not long after you feel that darkness inside again with hatred.
You need to take heed of the last comment placed and you have already taken the first step by sharing this with us all. Place your energies into composing beautiful poems, maybe try to imagine the person you would love to be? Stop and concentrate on ALL the things that make you smile, don't shut yourself away alone .... stay here with all of us here and time will heal as will your wounds.

keep writing and trust that there are people out here that CARE for you even tho we don't really know you..................

Dee xx
