I lost my Mother then my Dad
to the C word oh so sad .......
How young they were yet age was old
I remember clear when we were told

My Father took it well you see
This evil curse begins with C
He'd had his life, well so he'd say
But he could still be here today...

It takes control what can we do?
Sit down feel bad, lonely and blue?
Or try to fight and beat it back
Put in its place, get lives on track

No one can fight this evil curse
Just sit and love and talk and nurse
Then medicate as best you can
See who comes thru the stronger man

Till one day comes and takes away
The ones you loved thats when you say
To take your place and stand your ground
Speak your mind, make your sound

Just when you come to terms with all
Thats when you hear its evil call
Another in your family beckoned
Not the first not the second ....

All you can do is hope and pray
Keep them safe until one day
God decides t'will be there time
Such young life.... such a crime

But nows the time to be strong and try
Hold back the tears, hold back don't cry
Find your strength for those you love and care
Be strongest now while they're still there .....

One day we will all meet again we hope
Until that day we pray we'll cope
Be strong, for those we love right now
For they need us more than we know how

One day we'll beat this curse thats sent
And find out why and how it's meant
One day we will walk away health free
One day soon ... and soon t'will be

Malcolmsdreamgirl, Once again you feed our appetite with your wonderful words of poetry. Your love of poetry shines brightly through the talent you present us with as the poem comes to life as you reach out and take our hands on a poetic journey that allows us to capture visions within our minds eye and permits us to feel the emotional content you have composed. As I now close this comment which is quickly turning into a book I want to thank you for once again sharing yourself which some of us eagerly crave because there is a wonderful talent within you.

Your dear friend
