THE GIRL.

Contributed by FRANCO on Saturday, 10th February 2007 @ 10:51:55 AM in AEST
Topic: Grief

.
At peace she was in her cozy small
cubicle of a dark womb, until the days
of peace busted, when she was pulled
out, to be spanked on her buttocks pronounced
aloud “it a girl” and a deep distressed
sigh from a woman lay below, as she cry.

(End of first day)

Taking her in the gentle hands embracing
warmly on her bosom as lips searched keenly
to quench her hunger, the woman whispered
dolefully in her ears with tears, “mama” rolling tears blended
with milk, an another newborn girl child was fed
belly full, bitter sex discrimination that kill.

(End of second day)

A stubbly man with his beer stinking
mouth, grinding teeth, burning eyes, emitting
foul words, “Papa” she muttered – he glared at mama;
“I asked for a son to take my fine family blood
to the next line, all that you offer is this gal,
forbidden sorry fruit of your cursed womb”

(End of third day)

Wrapped in ragged cloth of ill fate - abandoned to crumble
in a wicked bin, this infant’s cry for survival begin.

(End of ever day)
-FRANCO-

The hard truth of this piece is there are some attitudes still afoot in the world. Rather than the initial joy of bring life to spread it hits the insurmountable wall of expectation and prejudice.

Well Done

Peace

unfortunately in many places in this world this happens. girls and women are not valued and in some cultures even considered a curse. you capture the emotion quite well in this piece
keep it coming

Oh Franco, my old friend.... this is so deeply touching. It was well executed also. Brought a tear to my eyes and a longing in my empty womb.
