Now that your out of my life,
At first I felt relief,
But now I just feel so much pain,
Because I think I made you leave,
Im sorry I couldnt help you,
I didnt understand,
I should have been much stronger,
And lent you a helping hand,
I know I have no excuse,
I know I should be blamed,
But that is nothing compared,
To how Im so ashamed,
I let you down tremedously,
My best friend for ten long years,
You suffered for all of my mistakes,
Leaving us both in tears,
I just couldnt bear to watch anymore,
Your struggle and your pleas,
I wanted you to eat once more,
On your own terms without this disease,
I wonder what your doing now,
I hope that your okay,
And that our friendship can be repaired,
And you'll let me back into your life someday,

why_not_let_me_live, I really enjoyed the emotional outpouring within this sad piece. Whats even more sad is this type of disease and how many it actually effects as for this one I blame the media always projecting young and beautiful skinny actors and models. This kind of message sent to readers and viewers takes a toll and has extremely damaging effects on peoples lives. I apologize for getting on my soap box but dad burn it the media gets me going every time. Thank You for sharing both your creative personality with us all and for feeding our hunger for great words of poetry. Wonderful poem.

Lovely poem but why are you blaming yourself..?
You did the best thing letting this person go and NOT being a crutch for her /him.
Hopefully one day they will come to terms and control their life. Iagree with Mickey re the media but at the end of the day its US that allow the skinny models to remain if we didnt buy or read their mags and promoted normal sizes perhaps we could ALL be happier? and the young of today be safe ....

This was sad but beautifully written. Your emotions and pain bleed from this poem. It is hard to not to blame yourself when things like this happen but you must stay strong and not be so hard on yourself. This was sad and very deep.
