Sitting in the big blue chair
That’s where you’ll always be
I walk in the door
And see your big glasses and shiny gray hair
I envision the thought of you not being there
In your big blue chair
It makes me so thankful
That I want to stare
And hope the scene will never leave
Why is it
That it took me this long
To appreciate the need
Why is it
That it takes the threat of loss
For a realization of a very special soul
Why is it
That we never know what we’ve got till is gone
Why is it
That we do not value
The enormity of impact
That someone places on our back
Sitting in the big blue chair
That’s where you’ll always be
I walk in the door
And see your big glasses and shiny gray hair
In my mind
That image will never untie
It will always be there
Until the day I die
