Black Rose
Black Rose failing fast,
Never again,
Only one remained,
Trust, with thorns of deceit,
Black as midnight’s awakening,
With petals as cold as winters ice,
Continue to grieve over foolishness,
Why shall never be known,
Red Rose love’s true color,
Now seeped in sorrows blackening cloak,
Black Rose on the grave where Red was placed,
Two Roses one hope destroyed,
Was it the Grey Rose’s lie?
Or Red Rose’s idiocy?
No, destiny plays its cords upon the hearts of all,
Red Rose thrown to the ground,
To be trampled upon underfoot and mocked,
Black Rose finds another to grace,
And Grey Rose on to spread its color lies,
Neither white nor black the Grey Rose cares for nothing,
What Roses of such simple smell,
Such a momentary time have they,
Different colors and thorns,
Faint scent and misting memory left behind,
As the sun and moon pass them by,
Soon destiny comes in,
To take from them what it gave,
Life on a hard rock soil,
Red Rose alone,
Black Rose with another,
And Grey Rose fleeing from fate,
All the same filled with pain and differences,
They all await their demise,
As their petals fall to the ground,
Black Rose,
Black Rose falling fast,
Dare we wonder why?
