A poet in solitude

I started wandering lonely as clouds
On top of the hills and vales it glides
There rushed behind me in a huge crowd
People who started shouting very loud
Besides the lake and beneath the trees
They all started dancing in the breeze
This night the shining stars lay continuous
On the milky-way I see them with glitters
Stretching all along in a never-ending line
I had their glimpse even in my glass of wine
Thousands of them were seen at one glance
Those that tossed their heads in a lively dance
These people out-did the stars in their glee
Away from them, their worries will flee
As a poet, seeing this I could only be at gay
In such a jocund company, what could I say?
I gazed at them and the stars-a little thought
What wealth does the show, to me had brought?
Far oft from them, here I lay on my couch
With the papers in hand and a pen in my pouch
These thoughts did flash on my inward eye
This is the bliss of solitude which I don`t deny
My heart with happiness and pleasures fill
It also started dancing not remaining still

A very peaceful poem, I really liked it, it made me want to be looking at the stars drinking a glass of wine and musing!
Good work,
