Consider for a moment
What it’s taken to get here
What roads I must have traveled
Which directions seemed unclear

Forgive my weathered body
With these spider webs of years
Holes I hold within my soul
All these scratches, scars and tears

I know some parts are missing
Much of me could be replaced
Please, before you walk away
Your impressions might be based

Much more on what I could be
Than as I appear right now

My name is appropriate
Yes, to this … I will avow

I am ...

( for the jalopy in my drive way )

Naz, poetry for cars and people, I think . What a great read. I've had my versions of this in cars and motorbikes.

Forgive my weathered body
With these spider webs of years

a terrific description.

Naz,

.As I read this poem, the following phrase entered my mind....I never promissed you a smooth journey, only a safe landing....

Others expectations may not be met, but the beat of our own drummer is the goal that should be set.

As usual, Nazzy, a thought provoking write....

Will/Terry

Bare with me on this one...a song I learned at camp one year.
My old favourite is a right good friend,
All you gotta give her is a twist and a bend.
She needs new tires, front and rear.
The horn won't speak to the steering gear,
She's a little lopsided and her lamps don't light.
But outside of that My Favourites all right.
Honk diddle dee Honk Honk BEEP. Beep
I loved that as much as I enjoyed your car poem.
