Hold on to your seats, you’re in for a treat
My chances are high and so I’m mystified
He told me there’s hope for our love to grow
Should I go forth and tell you more?
This morning was a duplicate day of yesterday
And as the morning went on, something felt wrong
A message for me, I wonder who?
To my surprise I fell on my ass
I glance at the phone one more time
As I felt for an instant I might be blind
To my shock I read how he is set free
With a gentle breath I say oye-vey!
Life brings around some interesting side-affects
First come love, then comes marriage, and hopes of that baby carriage
But what I see in reality may be just hopes and dreams
I don’t know what to send back
What do I say to someone who may be afraid?
Is he happy or is he sad?
Why do I feel so glad?
As I think back to the past of our youth,
How we almost kissed under the stoop
I’m terrified to say how I want that more each day
I look down to my phone and begin to type
I mention I’m sorry and things will be fine
How stupid that sounds as I write that down
But I hope he realizes he is one hell of a guy
