Soft red petals could enclose
The organs of a rose;
But the petals grow brittle
In time the flower does cripple;
As not does my love.
Milk chocolate could rest on the tongue,
Sweet as desire sprung;
But it melts away fast,
Dissolved not to last;
As not does my love.
But a stuffed toy may be,
The most permanent of the three;
It will not wither and fall,
Or dissolve to no recall;
Just like my love.
