I cannot see,
I cannot feel,
The words, they won’t appear
Why can I not write?
Please God tell me,
My wife is so ill
Our children are starving
And eviction is very close
My stories gave us life
My words were our food
Yet I can no longer create
I can’t give life
And my crops have seemed to dry,
So I beg,
Please God! Remove this wall!
Let me see!
Let me feel!
My loved ones need me!
We need my words!
Just let me write!
It’s all I ask,
Please God
Let me write…
