An Awakening

Contributed by deadheadpoet on Monday, 5th February 2007 @ 02:16:52 PM in AEST
Topic: spiritual

...and the feeling coming on
tuning in...
is of the most vibrant shades
of rhythm
I welcome them
as if I've
tuned into waves
of old
Getting to know
me
My fears
what makes
one tick on
in time
Bones crack
and loosen
Joints needing
freedom
again
like a child

I loved this...

"the most vibrant shades
of rhythm"

It reminded me of this...

"Listen to the pictures flow~
Across the room into your mind they go..."
~G. Lightfoot, the Minstrel of the Dawn

I've been down a similar road in my lifetime and I can say that you've done a very good job capturing the abstract. short, to the point, and incredibly effective. well done!

perfect DH ... an awakening indeed! I love how you
ended this piece .. with the mention of a child. Children
are like a sponge, no? They just want to absorb
EVERYTHING. Oh, what a world if we could all adopt
the philosophy of learning for life. Some misguided
souls, believe when you grow up, you stop learning,
(and by some magnificent cosmic melding .. they know
everything). HA! Perfectly wonderful, this piece is,
my friend. You have left me much to ponder.

:)

Fantastic puncuation..
(the beginning line, as if we all broke-in, your mid-thought)

one might also try to express sentiments..
that'll only suffice, so long as they've experienced this type of epiphany or grandeur..lol

..wonderful work Laura~
a lesson in composition, to us all.

Truly,

B

From the fractals in your image to the brevity of your piece I feel I have just had the most satisfying yawn my whole body yearning in wakefulness. Thank You for sharing the heart of the sunrise and your bright morning of self awareness.

Peace
AJ

I agree with Billy... honestly, I think more poems should begin with "... and". I've been toying with starting one off that way myself, but they just don't seem to come out that way (hell, lately, I'm lucky if they come out as all!).

I like the stream of consciousness feel of this and the way it works it self to and into those last six lines. And those last lines? Fabulous!

And the pic... it's so you, so this... and it so works.

Nice, lauraloo-

A sneaky piece, this one, Laura - got me thinking and moving and sitting all at once. The dance is never forgotten.

Laura,

I relate to this poem

...then I need to break free of some of my adult constraints, and experience the freedom of my child. Indeed, seek my savior as a child who reaches out with eagerness, and unihibited abandenment....let my spirit soar above the physical constraints and fears,,,,

Well done my friend,

Will
