World In Flames

Contributed by alison on Sunday, 4th February 2007 @ 12:59:51 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Empty shoes waling along,
One sock power fold,
Door knobs closed,
Black bed sheets and white midnight sky,
Toast for dinner and cake for breakfast,
Something in this life does not fit,
Standing when you should sit,
Dropping what should be lifted,
Killing what should be saved,
Creating what should be killed,
Forgetting the most important,
You are drinking death,
As it snows in July,
And sunshine’s in December,
Its ok, its alright,
The voices resound, spreading the lie,
Go to sleep today and wake as night overtakes,
Blinded by flashing lights and neon signs,
Wearing rings of divorce,
And skin as clothes,
Something in this world spins the wrong way,
Shadows making love to manikins,
While masks and liars become friends,
As the world falls in flames,
People ask how this became,
When its to late to repair,
Watching the boxed dictator,
It happens while they buy lies with the truth,

Gratefully the world is what we make and not the Earth entire. However what a ride to get at the feelings some of the things in our world can evoke. This piece takes us there in twists and turns to deliver the writers feelings about the ugly dangerous things to our species and ourselves.

Good Job

Peace
Yangdantien
