The eyes of the sky

Contributed by boredoms_burden on Saturday, 3rd February 2007 @ 05:50:20 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

As I fall to my knees and I hear her dreadful cry
I hold her by the hand as the life in her eyes starts to fade
As her hands grow colder, I squeeze them tighlty and begin to think back to all the times I held this very hand when it was warm and full of life and passion
I ask myself is this it, is this how her life will be remembered will she die such a horrible death that no one will even remember all the good shes done
Then I took a last look into her eyes as she looked into mine and she passed
I remembered the good times and the bad, I remembered everything I ever said to her and every time I disappointed her
A tear slowly ran down my cheek and fell to the ground only to be soaked up and forgotten into the wet grass
In that tear it held everytime good and bad time I had with her
A tear that fell to ground only to be forgotten and lossed in time
The feeling of any sort of happiness left me as I stood to my feet and turned my back to her lifeless body
I looked to the sky and wondered if it would still look the same now that she was gone
Nothing had changed the world was going on like any other day
It took me a while to be able to look at the sky after that day
Life or no life the sky is the same to others but has changed in my eyes
When it comes to it sky or no sky she is gone and I am left to live in my lonsome
But life must go on, because the sky doesnt change just for anything

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
