Sunny days
With our skin
Painted in soft hues of orange and yellow,
We would lie,
hand in hand
In the cool grass,
Whispering secrets of out futures and dreams together.
As the clouds danced across the sun
The light caught my eyes.
All I could see
was your smile.
All I could hear
was our laughter.
All I could feel
was
you.
The endless days
Always ended with hot summer nights.
Tangled
In sheets of passion,
Our Bodies glistening with sweat,
I'd run my fingers
Through the curls of your hair,
Pulling you closer
We made our
Vows
To stay this way forever,
Our vows,
Of everlasting love.
Now,
Here alone,
I sit,
Bundled up in blankets,
But the winter breeze still
Chills me to the bone.
The clock slowly ticks
On.
And on.
And on.
This heart
Is frozen
Without you.
The memories we once shared,
Remain locked
Inside it's icy caverns,
Waiting
Hoping
For you to return
And whisper in my ear
Your warm breath of life
Into this hardened soul,
Before the ice
Begins to break.
