My Sister

Contributed by untitled on Friday, 2nd February 2007 @ 03:42:15 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

My sister was an idol to me
she was the everything I wanted to be

Even with her smashing and crashing
I held my tongue, so no back lashing

When she yelled I just looked on
I didnt listen when they said it was wrong

She was my sister and I loved her so
it was always yes and never no.

When she went away I thought I was sad
then I heard of all the bad

and as time went on I came to see
she was the last thing I wanted to be

I convenced myself I had no sister
so people never asked if I ever missed her

I transformed into something, or somone else.
my heart was changed, from one that melts

To a hard, hating souless being
that hated mostly everything

Then I day I saw her again
she was free from her prison pen

and when she saw what I had become
she also saw what she had done

for the first time I had a sister
and she didnt mind if I hadnt missed her

I found the forgivness I thought I didnt need
and the hate that filled my heart, was finally emptied.

To my Sister
I had alot to learn
thanks for being so patient.

I really enjoyed reading this poem it had lots of raw emotion in it. I feel like I can relate to this situation with your sister but apply it with my mother. Very good write. Sounds as something that I might write myself.

Your friend, heather
