The Condemned

Growling, howling at the hollow moon,
sounds echo around the trembling bushes beside the lagoon;
the eerie fog gathers over the water and soon to see...
the dead rising out of the sea.
Dancing on sand, calling his name,
forgotten, visages appear in flame
and soon the cold wind lingers,
ash cold hands pointing with broken fingers...
Carving names onto the sand,
cursing the ground which upon they stand,
the sky takes flame pulsating red heat,
the black night darkens, light to its defeat.
And on the ground pounding is an old stick,
undecipherable languages spoken sick,
a ritual to place on humanity a boon,
sins and deeds inspired by ruin.
On the cliffs nearby...
lights flicker then die,
rain pours down on a world bleak,
questioning the answers we seek.

I enjoyed this poem because it reminds me of the poems that I post on here. Its not a stupid emo poem like most are under the Dark poetry catergory. Good write.
