2032

The room is small with two chairs alike.
I am to sit and wait on the one to the right.
A woman enters and sits to my left.
She begins to say, “I will lead a lonely life.”
This is not what I want to hear,
But she continues as I’d fear.

Is this a fortune teller or as many know to be a gypsy?
What to expect as her head looks up to the ceiling.
My heart palpates as she begins once more.

There’s a gentle calmness as she touches my hand,
But a notable sadness has turned her eye.
No one will fulfill me right.
Emotions have ruined my heart.
Only one child will bear my soul.
How much more can I take?
How much more does she know?

The light in my eye is not of grace,
But a sorrowful lonesome place.
She looks at my palm and points
This line across has marked my death.
This line below has marked my soul.
Perhaps she should stop before my futures told?

As she leans forward to see my face,
The make-up I wear shadows my fate.
As she lets my hand go, she says with a trembled voice,
“Why hide from your true self?
Why do you hold so much hate?”

I watch her and wait to see if there’s more,
But all I wish is to go.
I can not stand as if I’m glued.
Can I not leave from this room?
‘Stand up straight,’ I think to myself,
But I can not, what do I do?

Just as I begin to rise, she grabs my hand with one more sigh.
There is something else that she tells me true.
Watch out for year 2032.
The room gets cold and I want more,
But the door opens for me to go.

I stand and begin to walk out the door,
But something told me to reach for her.
Disturbed I felt and had to ask,
What will happen in 2032?
As she touched my hand she began to say,
“It’s just a year of things you’ll endure.”

Interesting where and when inspiration comes to us sometimes.
I guess it doesn't really matter where, just the fact that it does come.
Unusual and fascinating write

Steve
