I sit on the sun warmed bank
Staring at the murky reflection before me
Near the shore, the water is shallow and warm
The farther you venture forth, the deeper and colder it becomes
The surface is slow, calm, serene
Beneath churns the current, swift and seething
A single thought runs through my head
"Still waters run deep"
A smirk forms on my lips
I give a mirthless chuckle
Through this meditation, my true self has manifested
I was born under the rightful sign of the zodiac
For I am a prodigy of the brine.

I like how you have captured the scene in your words so that the reader, being me gets the image painted in my head, slowing down to take it all in I could almost image being their. Curious? by any chance are you a whitlems fan ??
