Picture Perfection -x-

Picture Perfection

Picture perfect the perfect picture, a couple so happy together
Holiday snaps and wedding photos, a couple who pledged forever
When I say couple I mean two, two who think as one
Will the pictures seem so perfect when all is said and done?
I chose one partner and trusted one heart together we lived and breathed
But now my pictures have started to fade, I know you have deceived
Do you know how many nights ive torn myself apart?
Crying over dedicated songs trying to heal my heart
I’ll try to explain how it feels; it’s like ripping through your soul
Burning tears of fearful loss and losing self control
Its sleepless nights and urgency of putting pen to pad
Trying to ease the rushing thoughts of everything you had
Dialling your number at any hour, are you on your own?
The pictures aren’t so perfect when you look at them alone
The song you cant quite bare to hear, that scent you used to wear
The items of yours you left behind, that cuddle I loved to share
Im sure my ink will run dry because you just don’t seem to know
How much I really loved you and letting that picture go
Smiles, laughter, fun years of happiness
How could someone who said “I Do” make me so depressed?
You were a king in my eyes but your heart as cold as stone
How could he cheat his promised words this king deserves no throne
I devoted, trusted, forgave it feels you’ve led me to hell
Are you even from this planet it’s getting hard to tell?
Even to the present day our pictures lay in frame
Watching over the perfect picture wondering who’s to blame
Years of photos accumulated photos of perfection
I hope you feel how much I hurt when you look at your reflection.

This was such a sad and deep poem.. I liked how I could relate to your feelings and I also like how the emotions jump out of this.. It was a very well written poem. The flow was great.. I can relate to this I had an ex boyfriend who hurt me a great deal and it was so bad that I would always wish not to wake up.. This was a well written poem..

Take care
Christina
