the daughter you forgot

hello there
why do you look past ignore
words are but precious stones; as rare
yes I am the daughter you forgot
remember
there were two kids you'd adopt?
one from S'pore and one from China?
yes, that's the daughter you forgot
did you happen to see
at any of your birthday jamborees
the cards left lying pretty
they were from the daughter you forgot
have you wondered why somedays felt empty
because you chose to turn away with no remorse
when she turned angsty and was a misery
that was how she became the daughter that you forgot
maybe one daughter was enough
one was enough what with all her faults
no longer does your attention half
for none has been reserved for the daughter that you forgot
the daughter that you forgot
has black hair brown eyes
raw with her dozen bunch of flaws
but she was never perfect in your eyes
she is indebted to you
she loves, no, she adores you
she only sits around she cannot stop
staying as the daughter you forgot
because you are the one forgetting
she's just standing there waiting
still will she stay as the daughter you forgot?
