For Sale

Contributed by Man_On_High on Sunday, 28th January 2007 @ 02:31:01 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

For sale, what thieves have not stolen or sold;
what neither nobility nor crime have tasted,
that which is unknown to monsterous love
and to the infernal integrity of the many masses,
what neither time nor science need recognize.

For sale are voices restored;
fraternal awakening of all chloral
and orchestral energies
and their instantaneous applications-
an opportunity.. the only one
for the release of our senses;
our synergies.

For sale, bodies without a price,
outside any race, any world,
any sex, any lineage..
riches gushing at every step,
uncontrolled.. like the sale of diamonds.

For sale, anarchy for the people;
irrepressible satisfaction for rare connoisseurs-
Mother to agonizing death for faithful lovers,
weeping at, dead-end-of-days
under skies of azure.

B

*applauds wildly*

I love this. LOVE it. (!!!)

I have you, just now, standing before a small group of us in some backroom of some pub in Boston -- delivering this to us --- and the group of us (lucky we!) sucking up every word, pausing briefly (for being stunned - stunned! - momentarily) and then banging our fists on the table! Oh, you got my attention with the opening lines - and held it, poet, through to the end!

My word! a veritable revolution in word, this is!

Dang, Billy... this makes me want to write and write and write until my fingers bleed! I wish, really, that I had written this.

Excellent post!

~Snemmy

Hmmm Billy. This write really had me thinking. I am pondering your muse for the piece. It took me...especially after the "like the sale of diamonds" line and the last stanza to the continent of Africa and the raping of her soil and peoples for blood diamonds. Whatever this meant to you, just feels like that..someone/something is raped/torn for who they are and what they are and someone else thinks it's okay and doesn't give a damn. Hmmm pondering all sorts of stuff with this one, my friend.

Thanks for sharing.
Peace, Laura

Sweetheart ~ there is so much innocent power in your author’s note ..
it bleeds of a most humble docility .. it’s almost as if you’ve claimed
something and then, (like a wide-eyed child) ask if that’s alright...

The piece itself .. (to me), seems an angrish sort of write. (Yes ..
angrish is a word; just now invented by me :p ..it’s just that it
seems less harsh than angry). It’s like a soft complaint, but one
that is felt very strongly. Almost sad though, in a way. (Gosh..
especially that second stanza).

For sale .. something valued that can be appreciated by one for the
right price. But, my dearest, most gentle poet, there are certain things
that no price could EVER be placed upon. And it is THIS, where I
sense a bitter sarcasm in between the words, you clever poet you.
Brilliant babe ~

God ! .. this was bloody stirring and completely inspiring. It has
the markings of a tortured artist, etching all the unjust and painfully
merciless emotions and circumstance that is shouldered by so many
unfortunates .. I am sensing that this must have been quite cleansing
for you. (at least I am hoping) A most moving write

all my heart always,

XO
~Breezy

Your write reminded me of a film I just recently viewd called "Blood Diamond" it was a killer movie. Sad, moving and filled with such truth. Tthere are some things you can never put a price on for they are simply priceless my dear friend.

I went to read some of what you have written and to comment on it. Yet you have said all that needs to be said, and I, who am I to have the nerve to add some small unworthy thought to the workings of your fire? You know the wealth to which you write with and the power it is, and the enjoyment (be it lack of a better word) to which it gives light upon.
