Small town rotting in the small town sun.
Wasted lives blowing down the Street
Like discarded newspapers:
Yesterday's news; Yesterday's bargains.
Blown by a wind that they do not know
Forsaken, unwanted rubbish
Left lying around until the Collector,
In his own good time, comes
To take them to the dump.

Can I have a go at writing the other side of the coin............about my small town. I'll call it
"Small town news"
Gimme a couple of days and I'll post it on my page with a note that it was inspired by your poem |
