My Questions to You

My Questions to You

What do you do when you love someone?
Do you tell them and risk being friends
Or do you bottle it up and let no one know
And just wait for time to end

Is it possible to love one whom you barely know
One you’ve only glanced once or twice
Is it possible to know love when you look in their eyes
Can only one look suffice?

Looking at you I know it can
Because that is what I feel
And the fact that I can’t get you out of my mind
Just makes me cringe with fear

I fear what you may think of me
I fear what you may have thought
When you saw me for the first time
Or is it something you forgot?

When I saw you for the first time
I couldn’t help but stare
Your body was so beautiful
As was your bright red hair

At first I turned away
Afraid what you might think
But then you smiled at me
And I turned back without a blink

Your brown eyes looking back at me
With a warm and friendly gaze
Just made me more taken with you
I was absolutely amazed

And then you started acting
With such passion and such skill
That I knew I had to talk to you
And try to get to know you, girl

At the time I didn’t know your age
Or where you were from
I didn’t even know your name
But I knew you were someone

So I talked to you after the round
And you proved me right
You were fun and kind
And that’s all I remember that night

I missed half of my prep back then
I know I had a round after you
There was the ride back
At the hotel there was much do

But the only image that remains
From that hectic day and night
Is your smiling face
That is picturesque in my mind

And after a short two days
Of seeing you only twice
I thought you were gone
That you would no longer be in my life

And then I found you again
Through the wonders of technology
And as odd as it may seem
That meant the world to me

So now the answer escapes me
To my very first question
What should I do about my feelings?
Are they even worth my mention?

I am normally a skeptic
Of all things with love and such
But now you make me rethink
Was I too quick to judge?

Regardless of your reaction
To this poetic plea for guidance
I want you to know
I am yours, until time ends
