Outside In

Contributed by devils_denial on Tuesday, 23rd January 2007 @ 04:24:10 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

A mirror
I watched them walk
Blushed cheeks
Timid Stars rapidly running
Moored together
Ships in a dock
Celestial
The sun and moon
Each orbiting the other
In the eternal dance of tranquillity
Dancing to the pointless harmony of life
Here I stand encroached upon the edge
Staring in, not out, staring through, not in
For those on the outside there is no respite
From the burning, engulfing loneliness
Abandoned by my social soul
Murdered by solitude
A last friend running away to the dark
Abandoned by the woman that was my hope
They walked away in disgust
And fright
Not a mirror at all
I stand alone behind a sheet of glass
Smothering
In self pity
Left with a grieving heart
