Rain is politics
Some hear the crash & boom
Of a thunderstorm
While others listen to a light sprinkling
Refreshing the world
Some see the gloomy backdrop
to a funeral procession;
Others watch flowers flourishing
In the springtime shower
A toddler gleefully leaps into a puddle
While a farmer thanks God,
For the drought’s been rough this year
Rain is our nation
100 million thankful
The rest groaning through
the endless morning commute.
