You stole a bit of my soul tonight

Contributed by EndEformEtrancE on Friday, 21st February 2003 @ 10:00:00 AM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

You stole a bit of my soul tonight,
And willingly I let you,
Because I felt like you already owned a piece,
Stashed away in a drawer somewhere,
Put away for later,
But in the dark, it’s grown like a fungus.

You stole a bit of my soul tonight,
As we oscillated like two parts of some gigantic, organic machine,
An oxymoron in itself,
Two separate entities that together form
A being more whole than any other,
Intertwined,
Breathing each other in,
In the smoulderingly warm dark.

And just for a second it felt like you’d given me the key to your box, and I’d stepped inside,
And for a beautiful moment,
We couldn’t tell which parts were you
And which were me.

You stole a bit of my soul tonight,
And willingly I let you,
Because now I have a piece of you,
Which I’ll keep close to my heart from this day on.

You right every wrong for me.
I am immersed in you.
You absorb me totally.
All in the time it takes a tear to fall,
An eye to dry,
A smile to form.
